13 Weeks

My friend Sara posted this pregnancy questionaire on her blog when she was expecting her first child. I thought that it would be a cool reminder to myself on how this pregnancy went. I was so overwhelmed with my first two, that I rarely took pictures and never wrote anything down, so I'm hoping to keep up this time!

How far along? 13 weeks

Total weight gain? 0lb

Maternity Clothes? I don't have to wear them, but opted to get some capri's since it's starting to get hot.

Stretch Marks? I've had twins, so I don't think any more could hurt me at this point!

Sleep? All I want to do is SLEEP! I'm so tired all of the time.

Best moment this week? Waking up to the boys talking to my belly!

Movement? None yet. I usually start feeling the baby around 17 weeks.

Food Cravings? steak. I could eat steak every day.

Labor Signs? NO!

What I'm looking forward to? Women of Joy weekend coming up- a weekend away with my mom!
This is a horrible picture of me, but I forgot to take one this week! This is from Women of Joy, and this shirt make me look huge!! I promise, I'm not that big!

Easter 2011

We did Easter a little bit differently this year. After church we went to my parents to eat a yummy lunch, and did the Easter egg hunt indoors due to the rainy weather. Brandon and I decided early on that we weren't going to do Easter baskets or make a big deal about the Easter bunny. The boys were like sponges when it came to talking about Easter and Jesus, so we wanted to make sure that they truly understood (as much as 3 and 4 year olds can!) what Easter is really about. In the days leading up to Easter, they had learned about palm Sunday, the crucifixion, and the Resurrection. They learned about it at church and partly at preschool, and we talked about it nightly at home during our night time routine.
Although we want them to understand the true reason we celebrate, we still wanted to let them have fun with an Easter Egg hunt! They had a blast finding all the eggs in the basement. I think Brandon hid close to 75 of them. We save them from year to year, so next year, we'll have well over 100!

Here are a few of the pictures in no particular order, since blogger won't let me rearrange them!

Searching high and low!

I have to beat bubbas!

I had to level the playing field, since we were indoors!

Slowly coming down the stairs for round 2!
I can't wait until next year, when we have Jaxson and our new little one around too! Holidays are going to be a blast with five grandkids!

Easter Party

Here are some pictures of the boys Easter party at preschool. I forgot my camera, so I had to use my blackberry, so they aren't the best quailty...l not to mention I couldn't keep up with them! They were running around like crazy people trying to find the eggs!

First Dr's Appointment

My first dr's appointment fell on the same day that Jaxson was born! And unknowingly with the same dr!
My dr in St Louis, was old school. I really liked him and completely trusted him, so changing dr's was a huge deal for me. After a few recommendations of drs in the Springfield area, I called and made an appointment with Dr L. Dr L's office wasn't all that friendly on the phone and she wasn't going to be able to see me until I was 14 weeks along. I wasn't really comfortable with that, especially since I had a gut feeling that I was having twins again. After I had a really bad day and got very sick, I called the dr's office, and they told me not to worry. I got a little aggravated and switched dr's to Dr S.

Dr S' office got me in with the week. No questions asked. They were very reassuring on the phone and VERY friendly in the office. I was so glad I made the switch.

As I got checked in the room, the nurse talked to me about Sarah and Jaxson, and then later Dr S talked to me about my new nephew too. He also talked to me about his love of Coach wallets, but that's another story!

After telling Dr S about how I was having the same symptoms as with the twins, he was anxious to have an ultrasound. Unfortunately, Brandon was unable to attend this appointment, which made me even more nervous! I was relieved once the ultrasound began, so only see one circle this time..that means only ONE baby! It was a big weight off of my chest. While I new and was a little excited about the possibility of twins again, it was going to be a huge undertaking and a HUGE stress. But now, I don't have to worry about that.

After the ultrasound, I headed downstairs to the lab to have the lovely early pregnancy blood work done. I called Brandon to let him know that we were just having one baby, followed by my parents. There were sighs of relief all over!

I headed to Brandon's office to show him the pictures and tell him about Dr S. He wasn't able to talk long, so I headed back home to the start my day with the boys. All in all it was a very productive and stress free day!

Jaxson's Big Day

Well, my nephew finally decided he was ready to make his grand entrance into the world...and only 1 week late! On Sunday April 10, Sarah finally starting having regular contractions. After a few hours she decided to head in to the hospital to get checked out. She was finally starting to progress. She was one day shy of 41 weeks, and still hadn't made any progress. Her dr's original plan was to admit her on Sunday evening, and induce her first thing Monday morning, but Sarah and Jaxson had different plans!

After knowing that she really was in labor and everything was a "go", mom, dad, and myself headed to the hospital around 6:30 Sunday evening. After a VERY hard and trying physcial labor, her dr decided to do a c section sometime around 4:00 am Monday morning. I held out as long as I could to meet my nephew, but headed home around 3:45am! I was so diappointed that I missed out on seeing him, but headed up there Monday afternoon, so Sarah and Jax could rest.

Jaxson Edward arrived on Monday April 11 at 4:15ish am! Weighing in at 8lbs and 9oz! He is very healthy and is the spitting image of his daddy! We are so happy for Brad and Sarah!

Twins Again????

I have yet to have a dr's appointment, and am starting to get a little concerned! When I was pregnant with the twins, everything was completely different. I never really had morning sickness, but the smell of everything made me sick. I was always exhausted. I would get home from work and pretty much head straight to bed, where Brandon would bring me dinner. I would get so overheated in the shower no matter how hot or cold the water was, that I would start to pass out. I was anemic, so I was constantly craving steak or anything containing high amounts of iron. (Seriously, when I had the energy, we would go to Texas Roadhouse so I could eat an 8oz steak.)

So far in this pregnancy, I am having some of those same symptoms. I've passed out in the shower once, but have caught myself right before passing out several times. I could eat a cow by myself, and the smell of everything is making me sick. The only difference this time is, I am sick, sick, sick. I've had to pull over the car several times, and make mad dashes to the restroom. Morning sickness is something I've never dealt with, so this is all really weird.

With all the similarities, plus the fact that I am already to starting to show, and am already wearing maternity clothes, makes me wonder; is it twins again??? Last time, I knew it was twins. I just had that instinct before it was even a thought in my dr's mind. This time, I'm not so sure. I think I am just excited about being pregnant again, plus with every pregnancy apparently you start to show earlier and earlier. Plus maternity clothes are super comfy, so why wouldn't I wear them as long as I can?!

Guess I'll find out at my first dr's appointment on Monday April 11!
