I never thought that the day would come...
I didn't know how long it would take for us to see a 26 foot Uhaul again. Only God knew. When Brandon got the job at the last minute, we decided to move in with my parents. From one set to the next!
We stayed with my parents for a month and were so grateful for them. Just like Brandon's parents had it not been for them, we wouldn't have made it through the past for years without them. But we were so excited for this day to finally arrive.
Brandon and I had talked about living with my parents for a couple of months before branching out on our own. It's been almost four years since we've had to pay living expenses, so we wanted to save up some money. I couldn't make it! I started looking for places to live and we found a cute 1400 square foot house on the north side of Ozark.
My parents went with us to look at it, and the boys fell in love with it- and started caling it their new house! We signed the papers and took control of the lease starting April 1. We couldn't move until the weekend- which ending up being Easter weekend. On Thursday we went over and cleaned and lined the cabinets and hung curtains. On Friday morning, Brandon, my dad, and myself headed to STL to get the Uhaul and start loading. We got to Jeff and Carol's around 9am, and hit the pile of boxes head on. Brandon's dad couldn't miss out on the excitement, so he left work around 11 and brought us lunch from McDonald's. Around 6 we were finally done, and headed to Steak N' Shake for dinner. We finally got on the road to head back to Ozark around 7:30 and it was pouring rain the entire way. It was raining so hard that you could barely see in front of you- go 50mph on the interstate rain. We pulled into my parents subdivision around 11:45, and went straight to bed.
Saturday morning we had an amazing crew helping us to unload. Pam and Gene Trotter, my uncle Gordon, and Kevin, Jeremy, Kerry and Andy from our Sunday School class. We unloaded a slam full 26 foot Uhaul in a hour and a half. Mom and Beth had the boys - but came over later in the evening to help, once everything was a little more put together.
We are so excited that the day if finally here, where we are on our own! The boys are in love with ''their new house" and seeing all of their toys again.
