BC: Day 5

My favorite quote...

I don't really have a favorite quote. My high school drama teacher used to always tell us "proper prior planning prevents poor performance". I always thought that was a good motto.

Instead of a favorite quote, I would go with a favorite Bible verse... cheesy as it sounds, John 3:16, would have to been among my favorites. It's an obvious verse, but as I was talking to my uncle the other night, he pointed out that it is the story of Christmas and salvation. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Do you see the Christmas part? Do you see the salvation part? In all the years that I have known or read this verse, I must admit, that I've never thought this to be a
"Christmas" verse. Everyone knows that the Christmas story starts in Luke 2! I thought that was pretty cool!

BC: Day 3

My favorite teacher...

I had several teachers in school that I loved. I was fond of some of my college teachers too, but my favorite teacher by far was Ms Nell Greenwood. Ms Greenwood was a "social studies" teacher. I think I took every class she taught. She made studying psychology, sociology, and the law interesting. It was actually after taking some of her law classes, that I began to want to be an attorney. It wasn't until I saw Brandon studying to take the LSTAT, that I decided it wasn't for me!
Anyway, thanks Ms Greenwood for all of your encouragement throughout four years!

BC: Day 4

My favorite book...

I've never been a big reader but my favorite book would have to be a Karen Kingsbury series entitled the Redemption Series. This series follows the Baxter family through a few years of life's. Like I said, I am not a big reader, but I began reading them after I had the twins. I could not put them down! I read all 14 books in less than a year I believe. It was like the Baxter's became my friends! I would definitely recommend these books!

BC: Day 2

My Definition of Success...

My definition of success would have to being happy in your circumstances. I know several people that have wonderful jobs, make tons of money, but are absolutely miserable. Then I know several people that have a good job, don't make tons of money and are truly happy. I would say that they people that are happy regardless of what their financial situation is are truly successful people. They have been able to find happiness in life, not making their life all about money. I hope that Brandon and I are able to keep ourselves focused on all of the happy things in our lives. We have a healthy family, a family that loves and supports us no matter what, and a always growing relationship with Jesus.
Silly or not, my simple definition of success would be happiness!

BC: Day 1

My Biggest Accomplishment.....

I personally don't think that in my short life that I have accomplished much. I would say though, that the past five years of my life as a whole, is my greatest accomplishment. I got married, I lived with my in-laws for 4 years, I had three babies in one year, I survived my husband going through law school, I survived my husband taking and passing the Bar Exam, and I have survived my husband as a first year associate in a law firm.
I would personally say that the past five years have been a HUGE accomplishment on my end! I am looking forward to my future accomplishments!

Thanksgiving 2010

We started out the holiday weekend with an over night stay from Brandon's parents on Wednesday. They didn't arrive until later in the evening, so I was busy baking when they arrived. They played with the boys for a while and then headed off to bed not too long after we put the boys down. They were hoping to get on the road to Oklahoma by 6 on Thursday, but ended walking out around 5:45! I wasn't even thinking about waking up at that point in time!
We woke up around 8:45 and put on some cinnamon rolls and nestled in to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. I wish I would have taken a picture of it. The boys looked too cute and their faces lit up at every float.

While they munched on breakfast Brandon and I got ready to go, and I finished putting together casseroles to take to my parents. As we were headed out it started sleeting a little, so we were curious as to what the weather would be like for the day. About 15 minutes after arriving to mom and dad's it started snowing. HUGE flakes. It was gorgeous. We got pictures of all three of our boys and my three cousins playing in the snow. It was beautiful. We sat down for our traditional feast around 12:30. We had just about all you could think of!

We played games, watched the football games, looked over the black Friday ads, and watched the boys play until about 7:30, when I decided meet a friend from church and go black Friday shopping at 10! Insane, I know!

We had a great day with family, and realized how blessed we are! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving too!
